We opened this to use and found it cloudy and separated. We tried shaking it up to see if it would dissolve and mix and all it did was produce floating clumps. Customer service advised that it was safe to use stating "It appears that the oil was partially frozen. This is common and usually happens during transport or storage at the stores. When the olive oil is exposed to cold temperatures, the natural compounds (fatty acids) begin to separate and give the oil the cloudy appearance and may look like white chunks of flecks floating in the oil. This is a natural phenomenon and has no impact on the taste or the quality of the olive oil and it’s safe to consume your oil." We have purchased this oil for sometime and have never had this happen, and we are not about to use this product with something floating in it that wasn't there when we purchased it. No offer of a refund or coupon to replace the product, we can use it as there are no contaminants in the oil. There may be some truth to what they say, but as consumers we are not going to chance ingesting something that the appearance is not normal to what we know.
